However, notice how everyone but Brian is too cowardly to post overtly.
The biggest Eden killer I can spot is that they stopped running it like a small company. That and a bunch of other decisions that seem even more boneheaded in retrospect than they did at the time they were made.
It was a great company. I never worked with such a group of people who really wanted to do whatever it took to make a company succeed AND still maintain a life outside. It was a lot of hard work and it was harder to leave, but it became evident that the powers that be (just two of them) lost sight of the people, made it personal, and ruined it for the rest of us. The hazards of a private company I guess. It is not the first time this type of thing has ever happened of course. I wish all the people that are still there the best of luck and clarity in their judgements for their futures. Those of us who left--we did good work and should be proud of it. -C
All these comments are blah. When all the stuff was going down ppl should have spoke their mind and put up a fight. Debating after the fact is pointless.
"I think you should remove this post...whereas it is not really fair to those who remain behind.."
okay, so maybe sucks was too harsh a word.. (like hate) i definately dont hate nor think they suck... I'm just disappointed that everyone's hard work is not paying off as well as it should be or could have been.
remove it? ha yeah right.. this is the most heated topic discussed here since everyone thought i worked at a gas station.
and as far as the speaking up during the whole process comment, very good point made, i spent a lot of my time doing the work that I had to get done, the ideas i did have were vocalized, but a lot of the time i trusted those who were getting payed the big bucks to the big ideas... the first 2 years were different than the last year, during the last year i definately got the impression that my opinion did not matter or it didnt matter anyway cause there wasnt enough time to spend on doing things that had to be done, instead we were just putting out the next forest fire and then driving to the next
Go Figure, Brian "Axa" Smith would actually "quote" me in his blogg. I guess I've come along way, huh Brian???
I still believe you should remove this entire blog, but why whould you, this topic has driven more bloggers to your site than seen previously before.
I can apprecaite your financial position, but there are others in worse positions as a result of this situation, saying much less, if anything at all. I never took you for a money/greed concerned person. Have I read you wrong?
Come on Brian take this blogg down for those who still feel their is some fight left and that perhaps maybe we can finally be a part of what we initally set out to do!
To all you other readers, I apprecaite all of your individual and collective efforts. In Hindsight, you can blame different people, decisions (sure we had plenty of both!!)bit nothing can be done now, let's all move forward.
No, I am not money hungry/greedy... but like everyone else I have bills to pay... And a month or so ago when I had less than 200 dollars in the bank it was a huge problem. I could care less about being rich, I just don't want to think about all the money I owe. College Loans alone are 500+ a month. You question whether or not I am money hungry... but I ask would a money hungry person not balance their checkbook since january 2002? it also should be noted that i in no-way am comparing my situation to anyone else's.. I realize those of you with kids/mortgage/kids on the way etc are not exactly in a good situation because of certain things.. so make that clear in your head... I never hold my finger in the air and demand to be the most important situation.. however this is my site, and it features my opinion. take this blogg down? you mean take this post down? super super highly unlikely.. the best way to get things done is through communication, granted this isnt the ideal venue, but seriously so what... what are you so concerned about? that people will google this unnamed company and somehow stumble upon this random post within the thousands of posts that can be found at this site and see that this unnamed company is having issues? all companies have issues... i ask you anonymous at 5:06 to either email me off list with your concerns if you that worried about it. and sorry if you dont agree but these comments are going nowhere.. i cant testify to you coming a long way cause you are anonymous and i dont know who you are.
you know who I am,,,don't make me say it!!! I never thought you were greedy, and that is not what this is about, but i do feel it is completely unfair to those who remain behind and are trying to get you the money you earned. With that in mind, be selfish and take it down.
"those who still feel their is some fight left and that perhaps maybe we can finally be a part of what we initally set out to do!"
Take off the rose-colored glasses. It's only between one person who is willing to run the company into the ground and another not intelligent enough to see past self-preservation and ego. The current state of things is the result.
I don't believe anyone who is still there is there because of the prospects! Is it fear? Apathy? One only has to work anywhere else to see how dysfunctional it is there.
to the 8:26pm Posting. I have no fear, just apathy for those who could not deal...whatever! If this is so easily disgarded by your need to relieve yourselve, then why even bother concerning yourself with this lame ass blog?
It's easy to copy instructions out of a book on how to run a business. Who moved your cheese? I recently read an article about brain surgery. Where do I book some Op Room time? I know the basics. Shall we debate theory vs. application?
To 9:50pm -- Apathy for those who couldn't deal? Come on! Where were you a year ago? All the ones who were fighting for it, by actions not intentions, left. The last at the end of this month.
ok...so this blog serves its purpose..i keep coming back to read peoples' writting action, and others, their reaction, but, its time, for me, to put it to rest. For all those people who have moved on either volantary or unvolantary, the best of luck in your new endeavors. For the people that are still employed there, again, the best of luck. For any company to succede the managment must constantly update their buissness case, more so for a smaller company. "Egos" will doom any company. Its not like anybody has worked there 25-30 years, only to get shown the door. See the witting on the wall and either ride out the storm or be proactive and move on. Best to all.
I've been called worse. Say what you will. Even though you won't remove this shitty blogg, i have noticied that you removed my other comments from other topics. That Brian, is your sign of weekness.
Brian...I just learned of this blog today. Thanks for your well wishes, i appreciate it. As I said in my voice mail message on April 15 (which started all this), it was a pleasure working with you.
The other Anonymous on this blog is a complete a$$hole. To figure out what happened to this company look at who bought a million dollar house in Saratoga. For someone with no business or software experience, did pretty well for himself after coming out of prison. Hum...
So like, Patrick is my hero and on this site I will chronicle everything I know about him.
Patrick is too cool. But that's okay. That's why we blog about him
