Braves second team to open game with three HRs
ATLANTA (AP) -- This was about as rare as it gets in baseball.
An unassisted triple play? Nah, there's been 11 of those. A perfect game? Not even close. That's been done a whopping 14 times.
The Atlanta Braves became only the second team in major league history to start a game with three straight homers and went on to a 15-3 rout of the Cincinnati Reds on Wednesday night.
Rafael Furcal, Mark DeRosa and Gary Sheffield hit consecutive home runs off Cincinnati's Jeff Austin in the bottom of the first.
The only other team to start a game with three straight homers was the San Diego Padres. Marvelle Wynne, Tony Gwynn and John Kruk pulled off the feat against San Francisco on April 13, 1987.
Before the inning was done, Javy Lopez hit another homer, a two-run shot that knocked Austin out of the game. The Braves tied the franchise record for most homers in an inning.

Matrix: Reloaded
Yeah, I thought it was good. Sara and I went last night to the late night show. Of course, it is not as good as the first, but in my mind they are almost not comparable. In the first you have no idea what to expect, What is the Matrix? Then in the second, there is no need to tell what the Matrix is, but rather Why is the Matrix? Obviously, visually it is amazing. Mentally, I thought it wouldn't hold up the mustard with the first, but to me suprisingly it did. I give Matrix Reloaded my two thumbs up and I look forward to buying the DVD and it again, especially a couple of those scenes.

Okay, here is my review of Springfling. The festival I went to last weekend in Afton, NY.

The drive to Echo Lake was smooth & easy, rolled into Bainbridge and tossed around a few back roads to arrive at Springfling. There was music and there was a scene, my friends REZI were about to play.. "I'm with the band".. Theres Packy, Phil, Ned, Doink, and Greg...cool. Packy hopped in and showed my the way to the site. Parked, popped up my tent, grabbed a brew and was on my way. We jetted back to the stage mic stand in hand to catch the end of the Rhubarb set. Quality. Plugged in, setup, and was ready. Looked at my batteries and they appeared good.

They actually got on stage at their scheduled time of 10pm. There was a great audience, people were pumped and everything was good....The Neds Tune was off the hook. Then during Doink I went back to my gear to make sure everything was good and realized my batteries were in fact not good and in fact did fail. Fuck. So I lost Neds Tune and Doink. Damn. Then midway through a sick Scatterbrains jam the power went out... Packy and Mark kept it going in stylish fashion which was awesome. Finally the power came back on and they sequed into tomonari... Great show friday night.

Then saturday morning gramma joan (person responsible for this festival) asks us if we started a rumor about jerry garcia band not showing up, which we didnt... but everyone everywhere heard the rumor and we have no idea where it started....

Then their was no one playing during the day on the stage.. and about 4 bands were skipped... around 8 or so One World Tribe did their set, then Mecca Bodega played... Jerry Garcia Band played around 1 am, grandma joan told us earlier that Rezi would be playing after JGB and REZI was booked to play again saturday night around 2am... we realized that this wouldnt happen by the time JGB did play around 1am... they played for about an hour and a half and it was real good. but then the stage manager announced that Something Dank was next.... so we sat through their entire set and by the time the stage was cleared it was 5:30 AM, the sun was up and everything... Rezi took the stage at 6AM and did a great set to all the late night owls and early birds... I need to revisit the sick Electrical Storm which contained Backwash and Mr Oblivious. The set was cool, but it wasnt the plan.

The festival was overrun with people who did not care about music and only cared about getting fucked up... there were about 500 people at echo lake and maybe 25 percent of these people actually came down to the stage where the action was...

So my complaints are simple
1) if you are going to go to a festival, go for the music, not the drugs...
2) if you are behind the festival, have a schedule and stick to it... and also dont bitch about money if you overbook..

5/18/03 Jose Cuervo, Squirrelman, Sub Tea Party > Electrical Storm > Techno Jam > Backwash > Electrical Storm > Mr Oblivious > Electrical Storm

5/16/03 Urraca Mesa > Rock Out, Neds Tune, Doink, Scatterbrains -> Drum Jam* > Tomonari

Here it is, the end of the week. I'm working on getting this test script together for this project and setting up the profiles. It's a pain, but it's important. I'll be in touch. Take what I said last seriously, that album is ill. So is this one too though.

We are working on this artificial intelligence online person who will be able to answer basic questions based upon what you im. (Well I am not working on personally, someone else is) It's very early in it's development so it only knows a few things. For any question you ask that it doesn't understand it acts like an eight ball. Here is a transcript of my conversation with this robot I had a few minutes ago. It will only get better in the future.

I am camping all weekend, so if it's wet, it's wet. I will have to make due. As long as it doesn't snow like last year I don't care.

So today is Maurizio's and John's last day at Eden. It's rough. They brought in Cake and Cookies. Like that is going to make us feel better now that we have all this extra work? Haha. But anyway. Best of luck to you to in any path that you drive down. I've been trying to maintain my focus, but just like any other Friday, especially one where I have plans lined up, It's starting to slip as the day progresses. It goes. Time starts to slow down on friday afternoons around 2pm. Here we are. I talked to my future landlord and we are all set with our apartment. Now I just need to go see Celeste to get a fully signed copy and hopefully the keys. After work, we'll be toasting these two and then its high time to Echo Lake where I will not be posting to this site for the rest of the weekend. Well, I will leave you now with a picture of our cool cat Nutmet. Take care.

  Jack is Back
The Lakers have been dethroned. It's ok. They just won 3 championships in a row. It's time for someone else. They have Shaq, the have Kobe, but no one else gave much help. Fisher, Fox, George, Horry all did nothing in support. Kobe was off tonight. They got beat by 28 points. It was almost a bad joke at the end. Whatever. It's ok. Next year just began.

100 people in a trailor? What the f?
"The driver, Tyrone Williams of Schenectady, N.Y., at first told authorities he thought his trailer was empty, then admitted he was paid $2,500 by two men to take 16 immigrants from the Mexican border into South Texas, according to court papers.
He claimed he did not watch as the immigrants were loaded into his trailer Tuesday night, though he could feel the truck rocking back and forth as he sat in the cab.
The trailer was actually packed with 100 men, women and children from Mexico and Central America.
Seventeen died inside and another at a hospital in Victoria, where the trailer was discovered abandoned early Wednesday. It was the deadliest immigrant-smuggling scheme in the United States in at least 16 years."

Wow, my good friends Kelly and Brian are getting married today in Rochester NY. Unfortunately I couldn't make it because of my current vacationless status at work. Sara is on her way as we speak in her new wheels. I thought about calling in sick, but didn't feel comfortable about doing that. Tonight, I'm heading to Gloversville to check out Rezi. It's going to be wild. Not concentrating to well right now. I found a cool new forum -- Terrapin Almost Pizza Time!

Big projects hurt my head. Like right now for example I'm working with another developer on this massive 350 hour FAA project. It's crazy. So much going on. I can't work on some areas because he is using the design elements those require. Okay no problem. There is just so much to take in. It's ok. Just have to stay on the path and try not to get to unfocused. It's so big it might as well be called a thesis project or something.
In other news, i've been listening to a Grateful Dead show performed 25 years ago today setlist. The Mountain Dew is rockin'.

Man, somebody flipped me off this morning on my way in. Then when I tried to stall to let him in, he yelled. Fucker. I feel weird this morning. I got about 6 or so hours of sleep so that shouldn't be an issue. But I do feel weird. Anyway.... Yeah I'm working on changing the layout of this site. Thinking about its direction.

Here we are at the booth gearing up for our hundreds of visitors and hundreds of leads. The time is now. The time is tomorrow. The time has past. ALSO, Celeste just called and she said we were all set with the lease and basically she is ready for us to sign it. That's fantastic. Can't wait to move. Pumps me up. So sometime near the end of May we move. Cool bananas. Man. I don't know. I haven't wasted any money at all in Vegas yet on slots or cards or any gambling/entertainment ventures and I plan to keep it that way. I've seen my partner here spit enough into the slots. Not for me. No one wins in this town except for the people who don't lose. Get home Saturday, couldn't change our flights. Whatever. Later.
