  Some New Pictures..
I've put some new pictures up I think you'll enjoy.

Here's a collection from Turkey Day yesterday.

And here is another series of pictures my mom took of the Trees around our house during the Fall.

Talk with you soon.

  Fact
2 Turkey Days is better than 1, especially if the two turkey days are stretched out to two days (as apposed to 2 on 1 day)

  Vick Update Looking Good
FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. -- Michael Vick will be in uniform for the first time this season Sunday, standing by as the Atlanta Falcons' backup quarterback at Houston.

The Pro Bowl QB, sidelined since breaking his right leg in preseason, practiced for the second straight day on Thursday.

During a two-hour workout, Vick rolled out on pass plays after working exclusively in the pocket Wednesday. He also stopped, started and took cuts.

"It felt pretty good," Vick said. "I'll just keep taking it day by day and see how it feels tomorrow. I am making progress."

Doug Johnson will start Sunday when the Falcons (2-9) visit Houston (4-7), but Vick will be available.

"He will definitely be the No. 2 quarterback unless there are any setbacks tomorrow," coach Dan Reeves said. "He was able to move around and scramble. I was surprised by how well he looked, especially compared to where he was last week."

And just a note on my reports from Flowery Branch. Yes. I do have reporters stationed in Flowery Branch. So.

Dunn is done for the year.
CRAP

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. (AP) -- Warrick Dunn's season ended Tuesday when the Atlanta Falcons placed their leading rusher on injured reserve with a torn ligament in his left foot.

Dunn had to be carried off the field early in the fourth quarter of the Falcons' 38-31 loss to Tennessee on Sunday. Coach Dan Reeves said Monday that Dunn initially got hurt during his 162-yard rushing effort in a 23-20 overtime loss at New Orleans the previous week.

  Blackwood Convention
20 years ago (next tuesday) Phish performed their first ever gig.

The First Gig
Friday, December 2, 1983
Harris-Millis Cafeteria
University of Vermont
Burlington, VT

Sound Check: Jam (with audience present)

Set I: Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress, Proud Mary, In the Midnight Hour, Squeeze Box, Roadhouse Blues, Happy Birthday

Set II: Scarlet Begonias > Fire

Show Notes: Trey, Mike, Fish, and Jeff Holdsworth recall being billed as "Blackwood Convention" for this show (though no one is certain what band name was used), which is believed to be their first public gig together. The band was short on equipment, so a hockey stick was used as a microphone stand. Between sets, the DJ spun some Michael Jackson and Trey drummed along to the album. The house music (which included more Michael Jackson) was presumably turned up after Fire to drown out the band. The setlist may be incomplete, though, as the master tape contains nothing after Trey's sarcastic comments about Michael Jackson following Fire. All songs are, of course, live debuts. While this show is often billed as an ROTC Halloween Dance that took place on October 30, 1983, this is incorrect. The master copy of the recording of this show, as unearthed by Phish archivist Kevin Shapiro, contains a handwritten note that pegs the date as December 2, 1983. In recent discussions with Kevin, band members confirmed that they recall rehearsing for this show over the Thanksgiving Break, and that the show was a Christmas semi-formal. Also, though many ROTC students lived in the dormitory (Mike's dorm at the time), it was not an ROTC-sponsored event; it was a dorm dance in a predominantly ROTC dorm.

And next Tuesday in the Fleet Center in Boston... ... Oh man, I don't know.. I can't wait... Their 20th Anniversay Show

1983 - (l-r) Jeff Holdsworth, Mike Gordon, Trey Anastasio and Jon Fishman

  Something Important
I feel like I have something important I wanted to say this morning to you but now for the life of me I can't necessarilly remember what it was that I wanted to say. It's right on the tip of my brain and in my mind, yet still so far away. I know it had something to do with numbers or dates or some form of currency or something. Hmm. The last thing I remember this morning in reference to what I wanted to say was the number 5. Or was it 7. I'm not really sure. I'm going to have to think about it for a while. I'm going to have to mull it over in my head so that I can possibly remember what it was. What was it? Damn it. Okay, can I make a confession. There wasn't anything. It's just that I wanted a new post and didn't have anything that I necessarilly wanted to say or not say this morning. So, basically I just posting this bullshit to fill the void inside my head.
Oh I do remember something I wanted to say and thought of last night. I'm so glad that my site does not have to adhere to some sort of content specific postings. Like, for example, I don't have to constantly post about the movies I've seen and thats it. This blog does not follow a set pattern of rules as far as what it reports upon. It's free form. I can post shit about anything and basically not care what you think about it. Now thats cool.
Okay where was I. Oh yeah. Just ending. I'm out of here.

I Got My Finger on the Trigger
Just talked with Bob from USDA, who happened to get a link to my sites via email I sent to him externally. Another client who has "eden" as one of the words to flag when receiving emails.

I'm looking forward to visiting in December. It's going to be a good time.

I haven't been to DC since I was 6.

  Penis Patch
Okay, What the frigger... I got a lot of emails about this last week.
NO, I don't need a Penis Patch.
And here it is, 7:32 AM on Monday morning and I've already received the first penis patch email for the week.
Notorious.

This is related to the weekly dump I do on my deleted items box that collects my piles of spam. This morning, that number was 1078. One thousand, seventy-eight junk emails I deleted. That's insane. I get so many emails, that when I see that I've got a new one I don't get excited. I know it's going to be junk mail. Remember the days where you were excited to get email? I barely do.

  Excellence
This is sort of old news, but...

Our Help Desk has won the Lotus Advisor Excellence Award!

Help Desk for FAA NexGen Initiative | Eden
Eden Help Desk gave the Federal Aviation Administration a robust,
Lotus-based collaborative tool that can handle a high volume of Help
Desk calls and the administration's internal IT requirements.

Some of you long time twobs fans may remember me writing about this project as it was going on, sometime during the summer. July, I believe.

Lotus Advisor Excellence Awards celebrate superior achievements with Lotus Software, including Lotus Notes, Lotus Domino, Lotus Instant Messaging (Sametime), Lotus Enterprise Integration, Lotus Domino.Doc, and more.

The Advisor Team asked he Lotus community, to determine which projects where using IBM Lotus Software to improve business processes, control costs, improve customer service, expand business opportunities, or otherwise benefit the users and organizations with which they work.

  Good Morning Monday!
Is being in the office at quarter to six any sort of record?..
I didn't think so.

I gotta pump out this Service Level Agreement modification to our default Service Contract functionality in the Help Desk module.

Basically, SLA's let you set resolution timeframes, default assignees, and default priorities. In our Help Desk SLA's can match the specific Caller, the Caller's Company, or the Asset related to the Ticket. If the system finds more than one match at save, the user will be prompted to select which one they'll use.

Maybe this isn't exciting to you, but I gotta bust a move to get it done and solid before Turkey break. With Phish tour, I'll have 7 days off after Wednesday. So pumped! Alright, back to it!

  21-0
21-0, the Falcons were winning after the first quarter. But it still wasn't enough to beat the Titans from Tennessee. The Falcons blew their fifth second half lead of the season to drop the game 38-31. Pathetic.

  I Made a Snowflake
it's kinda crappy, but you should try and make one too.

Go to http://snowflakes.lookandfeel.com/

To cut the paper, move your scissors so the red dot in the middle of the scissors turns green and left click. Then, position your scissors to how you want to cut into the paper and left click again. Finally, left click on the edge of the paper where you want the final piece of the hole to be cut out at.

Not excited, but yesterday when I got back I found out I'm being assigned to an onsite December 9-11 in Washington, DC. Government stuff.

Trip to New Jersey
The trip to New Jersey was in retrospect quite successful. I was able to sift through the products and give basically an 8 hour lesson/demo on all of its features and functions. There were some issues like their servers processing extremely slow which made for a very annoying day but in the end it was successfully mostly because I survived. I'm glad its over, but I fear my name is going to be called again soon to go onsite. The drive was pretty crappy last night cause it was raining the whole way. I hate driving in the rain at night. Bob Jones was up to no-good when I met up with him Tuesday. Thanks again for letting me crash over. I woke up mad early yesterday morning for my Jersey commute. Thankfully I was going the opposite direction than the flow and had no troubles finding the site. It was extremely foggy but I didn't let that hold me back. The people I met with were nice, so that's always a plus.

Steroids in Baseball
Steroids in Baseball is a big deal. Players have been cheating. They are using steroids, THG, Ando, and Human Gene Hormones to drastically alter their body in order to increase their performance on the field. They are destroying themselves and cheating. Players who use these substances have an unfair advantage and should be banned or removed from baseball.
It does not seem right that a great ball player like Barry Bonds has hit over 225 home runs since his 35th birthday and is obviously much bigger than he ever was during the first 10 years of his career. The guy is wearing a hat four sizes larger than what he wore in the mid nineties.
Mark McGwire was caught by a reporter in 1998 for having Andro in his locker, in the open, the year after he broke the all time home run record. A shot putter was banned for life and stripped of all his gold medals because of the same substance, yet Major League Baseball pretty much ignored this and changed policies on reporters being in locker rooms.
Before 1995 there were 18 players to hit more than 50 home runs in a season, since 1995 there have been 18 players to hit more than 50 home runs in a season. It is a big deal and needs to stop.
5% of the players in baseball failed announced tests during spring training last year. And basically you need to fail 5 years in a row under the new rules in order to be banned from baseball. It's ridiculous. And they say the players union will never let them test and let test results be known to the general public. It's such bullshit.

Keyshawn Got Dumped
How about that. Keyshawn got de-activated on Tuesday from the Tampa Bay Buccanears. He must have really pissed some people off in the front office, including coach Gruden. Supposedly he met with coach Gruden a couple weeks ago and said how much he didn't like him, his coaching strategy, or the team in general. He said he would be gone after the year was over and wanted to leave. Then last week he supposedly put his house in Tampa for sale. It is seen as a loss-loss situation for both parties.
The Bucs are not better without him on the field, but they have removed this enigma from their locker room. Keyshawn has been blacklisted as a player who only cares about himself and the amount of times he gets the ball thrown to him, rather than being a team player and only concentrating on winning and doing whats necessary to help ensure the team wins. It hasn't been a pleasant rebounding season for the Bucs who are now 4-6 after winning the Super Bowl championship last year. Who'se better off?

Vick Reinjuring Ankle
Michael Vick, who had hoped to return to the Atlanta Falcons lineup this weekend, said Thursday that his ankle is still hurting and he most likely won't play in any capacity against the Tennessee Titans.
Vick was hurt in practice Wednesday when a teammate stepped on the his right ankle in a walkthrough. He said Thursday that it was too early to tell whether he'll be able to play next week.
Team orthopedist Andrew Bishop and trainer Ron Medlin said Wednesday that Vick did not sustain further damage to his right foot. They added that Vick rolled his ankle after taking a snap and trying to step to his right as his foot was caught.

Let It Be Naked
I've picked up the new Beatles cd which removes the wall of sound added by Phil Spectre post production of the original recording of the Let it Be sessions and I can accurately and proudly say that it is a great gosh darn cd. The Beatles are great in any shape or form, but listening to this album has really put in perspective how great this band would have been if they underproduced every disc rather than adding too much which sometimes you could say they did. I'm not too familiar with the original release of Let it Be because I do not own that album but I'm interested in sitting down and listening to the differences. The second disc included in this Let it Be package is called "A fly on the wall" and basically has about 20 minutes of clips of songs, little insights and quicks by the fab four, and other golden nuggets. For 12.99 this was a great purchase.

MJ
I don't understand why the world is out to seek the worst penalties on this man before knowing the truth to the entire matter. Regardless of every single Media's speculation, I find Michael Jackson to be harmless. Yes he's weird. So what. If it does turn out that he is extremely guilty than its a different story. But it makes me sick how horrible he is treated and has been treated the past 15 years. I really feel bad for him. Just misunderstood? It's not fair to any living human the way he has been repeatedly treated in the media. Maybe someone should have killed him 10 years ago, so he didn't have to go through this and we could just remember him as a legend.

  Jersey
Well here I am in Jersey. 1/2 through the day. I just conducted a 4 hour training class on our Help Desk module to these people. Of course, they loved it. But really, I'd rather not be here. Thats okay. I hope I don't get torn apart on the next session. It is the beast, Project Manager. Ahh. Oh well, Whatever. The last session wasn't too bad, there were a few things not working right, as always. Anyway, just wanted to say, I'm alive. I'm doing well. Got to see Bob Jones last night, and that was fun. As always. But ahh... I'm out.

Anyway, I'm off to Jersey. Wish me luck.

You may remember me saying that I was up a couple bucks in my 401k, well now im 61 cents in the hole. I don't pay attention to the Economy but this must mean its going down or something... Bounce back. But don't burst bitch.

  Primal
Nutmeg must have been planning it for hours. I'm sitting at home at peace around 5:30 last night and the cat starts whining and scraping at the door. I tell her to stop. Like she does every day, she's waiting in extreme anticipation for Sara to get home. The cat is truly pathetic when she wants her mommy. She looks so worried and scared for it to all disappear as soon as Sara returns. So the second Sara opens the door, she bolts. I'm thinking no problem, the bottom door must be shut end of discussion. But no! She timed it just right so that Joanna was walking in the bottom door at the same time and had it open. Outside! Okay fine, so she wants to be outside for a little while. We give her about fifteen minutes to chomp on the grass and check things out in the dark. Then we have her nice and calm and it seems like a perfect opportunity to pick her up, but wait... it looks like she is peeing. Okay, we'll give it a few moments. Then after this and a few darting moves I go to grab her. She hisses at me. Then she starts digging a hole. So in the end, all this trouble was so that she take a crap outside. Not my cat. Oh yeah, I don't know if it helps at all but she's originally a Jersey cat.

  Snow
All I know is this, and maybe I should have expected it.. but... immediately upon returning to Oneonta I find the town laced with snow. Everywhere. Whiteness. Hmm.. Okay, guess winter is coming. It is a reality check when you see snow for the first time of the season. Here it comes. I guess the roads were bad in other locations yesterday, but my trip was quite mild. The show was pretty on point. More on that later...

  Functionality vs Design
Earlier today I was at Doug Martin's site and noticed a big blue border around an image he had. Well. I tried pointing out that it wasn't pretty and he kept to his position, "As Designed".... I went on to say that design is just as important as code that isn't buggy. Especially here, on the web. People don't care about how this or that is done, they only care how it looks. So Doug take a look at these bad design principles so you can remember what things to avoid in the future.
Bad Design Features

  The D
The new Tenacious D DVD, "The Complete Masterworks", is freaking awesome. I highly recommend it. Even if you aren't familiar with the D, go out and buy it immediately. It's two discs and being sold for very cheap (somewhere under 15 bucks)...

Those who aren't familiar with the D, you have a lot to learn. I suggest you start now.

  The Return to Jersey City
The Return to Jersey City is happening much earlier than anyone of us would prefer. I'll be traveling down there Tuesday in order to conduct a training session at a undisclosed location Wednesday. I do try to avoid Jersey is much as possible, its really nothing personal.. its just a life preference... However, see you soon.

  What to talk about today...
How about how the world is a better place because Bob Jones doesn't have one of his own pages like this to spew things out. Let's all be happy about that, at least for now.

General Clinton Pub tonight--
What do you say Bob Jones, can you make it out?

IT's going to be a long night of rocking.

You're too old to rock, no more rocking for you... (TD)

  P.S.
I encourage posting here...

I want you to do it.
I dare you to do it.

Just do it.

  Moving up in the world...
People are starting to use this site. Thats cool. It will never be as cool as I want it to. I've got a lot of things I want to put into this place. People are linking to me, that helps. I thought I was going to say something that made sense but instead I guess this is it. Just note that this blog is pretty much a dump and you should never know what to expect when you come here. It's constantly evolving, revolving, and involving. Also, theres currently only about 15 posts on the front page, but if you dig into the archives, theres quite a bit more depth. Rock on! Thanks for coming!

Vick practiced today.

read | quotable

It's funny. I'm watching the video on the falcons site that basically shows about 9 minutes of film from practice. It's interesting to see all the other people, all the other players in the background keeping an eye on whats going on with vick. They all want to see how he reacts. This is his first time being in practice since the injury. Tremendous. He's also been upgrade from "Out" to "Doubtful" for this weekends game. He is most likely not playing this weekend, but will play next weekend. Thats the plan anyway.

  Listen-To
This has been compiling for almost a month and the following list displays the number of plays each artist has received on my computer. This list is not entirely accurate because it only recognizes songs that have a full Id3 tag and not all of them do. Obviously this list isn't entirely accurate overall of what I have been listening to the past month. It only includes artists that are on my computer.

156 Rezi
104 Phish

  My fantasy season
Well, this NFL season has been the complete opposite as last season. This season sucks. Just like the Falcons my teams were all a 1 man team. And he hasn't even played yet. I don't think I will win 4/6 leagues like last year, I don't even know if I'll win any. It all depends on if I make the playoffs and if Vick is playing at the end of the season. Here are the records for my misreable teams so far.

-record-team name-rank in league-total number of teams-league name

6-4 Scatterbrain Storm 3(12) Rezi Jam
5-5 The Cats Pajamas 5(8) Beantown
5-5 The Lemmings 6(12) Vibe Tribe 1
3-7 Scatterbrains 7(8) Phootball
3-7 Squirrelman Stew 10(12) Vibes 2003
2-8 Saratoga Stampede 8(8) Smith Family and Friends
2-8 Two Ducks 11(12) Foleyboard

The Beatles - All My Loving
Close your eyes and I'll kiss you
Tomorrow I'll miss you
Remember I'll always be true
And then while I'm away
I'll write home every day
And I'll send all my loving to you
I'll pretend that I'm kissing
The lips I am missing
And hope that my dreams will come true
And then while I'm away
I'll write home every day
And I'll send all my loving to you
All my loving , I will send to you
All my loving , darling I'll be true

  Two Ducks
I'd like to take a moment to reprise the greatest poem ever. Two Ducks, written 4-15-01 by yours truly. Truly, a classic. The poem is about a couple of ducks who the writer finds content with. Sometimes when the world gets you down and your busy and leading a hecticly paced lifestyle all you need to do is stop and appreciate something simple like two ducks in the air flying. Then appreciate it again and again to calm yourself.

Two Ducks
by Brian Smith

In the air, two ducks away flying.
Two ducks suddenly flying.
Flying finally two ducks.
Two ducks, they’re flying.
Two.
Two ducks flying.
Above, two ducks fly.
Two.
In the sky, two ducks above.
I see two ducks flying.
Two.
A duck and another duck.
Two.
Two ducks who fly.
Flying away, two ducks in the air.

  Leaky Update
"STEVE" worked 9-10 hours on our apartment yesterday replacing the shower head and faucet in the tub and the surrounding shower walls. He also took the toilet off and tightened some things up or what not and put it back... so if the floor is dry by Sunday or Monday then things should be all set... MANG

  Niceness
The greatest thing about being out of town all week is that when I came back all of the stupid VOTE FOR ME signs were removed. Thank you.

  A record I didn't want to break.
Well, I haven't been in since last friday so in 7 days I have acquired 750 new emails. 98% of them I am sure are SPAM. What a crapshoot.

  Powerpoint puts me to sleep.
Hey kids, how's it going up there? Well, I am still in raining Ft Lauderdale for another day and I believe its raining outside but I haven't been there since a few days ago. Ah, I think I'll go pass out on the beach. I'm tired. I was in some sessions this morning and they all put me to sleep. Actually I think about 7 out of 8 sessions I've been to the past two days have all put me to sleep. Oh well. I hate learning. At least lecture style learning. It's crap. I'll never go back to school unless its close to 5% or less lecture and style. Power point presentations just kill me. They are not fun... Well, I don't know. I am looking forward to coming home tomorrow. I believe I fly in around eleven in the PM. I am not however looking forward to returning to our soaked bathroom with plumbing problems. Yeah, did I tell you.. We have been having issues with our bathroom for quite some time now.. It's ridiculous. Our shower leaks about 1 1/2 to 2 gallons of water a day, draining our freaking hot water tank which gives us a nice 60 dollar gas bill a month plus related or not we aren't sure, but the floor around the toilet and now as far as the sink is soaked. It's really pissing us off. Our landlord is aware of the situation and is trying to get this guy to come check it out. But that doesn't necessarilly ease our minds. We hate our apartment because of this, and it's not making life any better. But anyway, I am going to go lie down.. I'm most likely skipping the 2 o clock session cause I am all sessioned out. Then I have a 3:45 and after that our team with Bruce Elgort and Gail is going to eat at a Mediterranean place or something. Anyway.. Sometime this weekend or something I'll write more about the crazy weekend I had which included 8 total hours of sleep, awesome rezi shows in gloversville and oneonta and meeting my fellow foleyboard-internet friend spyder down here in fort loadey. Alright, later on.
