This Year's Lakers Team vs Last Year's
I love this Lakers team.

Sure, they do not have the individual talent that they had last year with guys like Karl Malone, Gary Payton, and Shaquille O'Neal gone but this team has a lot of heart.

It's almost the end of a battle for a strugg-a-ling Timberwolve team and because of guys like Caron Butler they are hanging in. Kobe Bryant is currently out with a strained ankle.

I dig Butler's energy. I dig Lamar Odom's ability. I like Chucky Atkins at the 3. Brian Cook is a completely different player. Chris Mihm has been suprisingly excellent.

After losing the Hall of Fame quality last year after a very disappointing end to the season it seemed as if the Lakers were destined towards mediocrity this year. Although they are not one of the elite teams anymore they are still a playoff team in a very difficult Western division. This team excites me. One of the greatest coaches in Phil Jackson is gone. Rudy Tomjanovich is his replacement, a very reputable coach.

The Lakers win! This is a great win for a team on the rise. Excellent.
